This report captures the practical actions and ideas from the 20^th First Ascent Foundation Event that brought senior leaders together to diagnose and discuss the leadership lessons that can be learnt from the Rio Olympics.

The report includes:

• Initial reflections on the Olympics from a leadership perspective.

• An overview of how UK Sport achieved their ambitious medal target through a people-centred ‘Rio Readiness Project’ from Charlotte Edward, Performance Director Developer, UK Sport.

•  An insight from Jon Austin, Performance Director at Badminton England into the challenges of an away Olympic Games and the methods they used to prepare for extreme pressure and the unexpected.

•  A First Ascent perspective on the Rio Olympics, analysing Team GB’s success at multiple levels.

•  Practical actions to take away around three key themes: investing in relationships, maintain focus on the vision and preparing for pressure.
