Effective communication is fundamental to both the performance and engagement of any team. While methods of communication may differ, one thing remains the same – when there is a disconnect between intent and impact, miscommunication hinders productivity and can lead to frustration or conflict.

Whether you are looking to address a particular challenge with an intact team or upskill your workforce, our team communication skills training is always interactive, practical and centred around changing behaviour. 

Who is communication training for?

Working teams 
Developing team communication is a brilliant opportunity for any existing or newly formed team looking to improve collaboration, productivity and performance. For intact, cross-functional and/or dispersed working teams, we recommend that the whole team attends the workshop. This enables the team to collectively agree actions to move forward, strengthens working relationships and provides the opportunity to address any particular challenges or dynamics specific to the group.

Effective communication can be the difference between a good and a great leader. This is why almost all of our leadership development programmes include at least one module or session on communication skills. Even for experienced managers or senior leaders, thinking differently about communication and expanding their tool set can boost performance.

People skills are essential to the success of every individual in an organisation. Upskilling your workforce’s communication skills is an ideal way to drive efficiency and collaboration internally, improve customer experience, as well as increasing employee engagement and retention.

What will participants learn?

Our communication training equips participants with the tools, skills and knowledge to successfully implement improvements in their day-to-day work. When it comes to improving team communication skills, we typically concentrate on three areas:

  • Developing self-awareness
    A foundation of self-awareness is essential to developing emotional intelligence and people skills.  Only when individuals understand their personal preferences and approach, can they start to consider how their communications may be received by colleagues.

  • Adapting communication style 
    More effective team communication comes when individuals adapt their personal style to best suit the situation and the individual. This reduces the likelihood of un-intended miscommunication and strengthen relationships as colleagues find common ground.

  • Building trust
    Brain science tells us that trust is a crucial factor in determining how open and candid individuals are with their colleagues. Building a non-judgemental ‘safe’ work environment encourages different perspectives and leads to better understanding of each other, rather than conflict or frustration. 

Training delivery methods

We will work closely with you to determine the best option(s) for your participants and tailor the delivery team, style and format to your needs. For many clients this is a blended solution of both online and face-to-face delivery, which embeds learning and behavioural change in a time and cost-efficient way.

Face-to-face session
Group training delivered in-person by an experienced facilitator at the location that best suits you. This could be your office, a classroom-based venue or even an outdoor location of your choice.

Live online workshop
An interactive and collaborative online session facilitated live by an experienced trainer. These can be delivered on your preferred platform (most commonly we use Zoom or Teams) and are ideal for dispersed participant groups.

Self-paced online learning, delivered either as a stand-alone online course, prior to or following a facilitated session. Practical, interactive and easy to use, eLearning can be delivered via our learning management system or your own platform.
